[Music/K-Pop] SECRET's comeback

Hey all,

May is officially here and it is the month of comebacks in the K-Pop scene! Well, if you are an avid Korean Pop follower or a fan then you should know what I'm referring to. I myself, am an avid listener to a few Korean bands/artistes. One of my favorite Korean girl group would be SECRET.

SECRET consists of 4 beautiful girls; their hit songs include Madonna, Poison and Talk That. However, this comeback brings the girls back to their youthful, fun and quirky image.

Their title song; YooHoo!

I personally find this song really catchy and it definitely suits the spring/summer ambience. However, I find the dance a tad too simple and boring. The choreography could have been better. Overall rating; 7.5/10.

Also, I find that it is utmost important not to judge one member is better than the other but rather, to find what each of them are best at; so here are my opinions.

SECRET's group leader, Hyo Sung (Most Charismatic)

She's also known as a 'Bagel Girl' in Korea which means a girl who has a very cute face with amazing body figure.

Hyo Sung most common topic of gossip among fans is her weight management. During her debut days she is often categorized as one of the fuller girls. However, upon shedding the extra pounds fans complain they prefer her previous image. (This is what we call, you just cannot please anyone so be happy about yourself)

However, Hyo Sung has been very happy about her current self which is what all girls should learn. Staying true to her 'Bagel Girl' image, Hyo Sung also landed herself an endorsement with an underwear brand in Korea known as YES.

SECRET's Sun Hwa (Most Appealing)

Sun Hwa has a very unique appeal. Her uniqueness makes her stand out from the rest as she seems to be very shy but with a spicy personality.

It is because of her appearance on the show that allows fans to truly see a side of her that makes
her more appealing.

Other than these two, there is Jung Hana and Ji Eun. Both of them do not have such a fan base as Hyo Sung and Sun Hwa. However, Ji Eun has got to be the member with the most powerful vocals. If you listen to all their songs, the most powerful vocals in the song is sung by Ji Eun. Also, Zinger which is known as Jung Hana now is best at rapping.

Ji Eun (Best Vocal)
Jung Hana (Best rapper)
More eye candy for you!

Cheers~

[Music] A SNSD Review?

Hey all,

I have been listening to Korean Pop very avidly recently and here I am writing another review about...... *drums roll please* Girls Generation or also known as SNSD.

Girls Generation might give you an impression that it is just another girl group for eye candy, am I right? No! Girls Generation might be Western influenced from their songs to the way they dress on stage. However, this group of girls do have something to offer individually be it singing, dancing, acting or modeling.

My personal favourite song from Girls Generation will have to be The Boys, Paparazzi and Oh! However, I also prefer to listen to solo covers from individuals such as Tae Yeon's O Holy Night. Similar to what I did for KARA, here is my individual ranking for the girls!

Top 3 best vocalist

Tae Yeon

Jessica

Tiffany

Best natural beauty

Soo Young

Top 3 Most Stunning (Looks)

Tiffany

Yoona

Yuri

Most Attractive Personality

Sunny

Best Dancer in the group

Hyo Yeon

Most alluring

Seo Hyun

Honestly I picked Seo Hyun as most alluring because in my opinion she is not the most attractive in terms of appearance, she does not possess the best talent in the group such as dancing or singing. However, as a frequent audience of their songs (not an otaku fan) I am always attracted to her charms. There is some sort of aura coming from her that just makes you want to know more about this singer. She is indeed very alluring compared to the other girls in Girls Generation.

I really salute their hard work and dedication in the industry. It is not easy to survive in the Korean Pop field. These girls has proven that they are actually worth all their popularity and fame in Korea, Japan and any other parts of the world. I hope they continue to release amazing music! =)

PS// I will write about T-ara next. Hopefull anti-fans who keep bashing them won't stumble upon my article.

Till' then.
Cheers, with love!

[Fashion] Little red riding hood

My sister dragged me to Markets at Jaya One yesterday (29 Sep) so I decided to do some shopping there. Markets plays host to at least 20 vendors of online blog shops and small businesses. The vendors sold clothes, shoes, jewelries, note books, food, customized trinkets and etc! =)

So I was looking for a galaxy printed dress that I have been eyeing online forever, but instead, I bought a red collared dress. Total damage for this dress was only RM25. It's a steal and I love the dress. The dress is made of thick cotton so it's perfect for a chilly weather. I'm thinking to wear it for my Korea trip this coming December.

This dress is free size and the bust area is a little too small for me while the sleeves are too big. I reckoned you to find a similar dress that fits you perfectly because I think this design would suit any girl similar to my age, which is around 18-20 years old (I'm 19 this year). It gives you a simple yet elegant look. Very suitable for innocent/cute images if you're going for that kind of look.

Lastly, just something random to share. I really admire IU, a Korean artist. She is my age, 19 years old this year (but according to Korean culture she is 20). Anyway, I fell in love with this dress at first sight because it is similar to something she always wore for stage performances. Therefore, it explains why I'm doing my first fashion post with this dress, hahah! =)

I hope you liked this post, if not, I'll improve on the next one.

Cheers, with love! =)

[Music] Kpop KARA's Pandora

I have been attempting to finish up my research paper on global culture. The best companion I had during this intense research is KARA's pandora. Even if you don't understand Korean, this song is so catchy you just could not stop listening to it and feel pumped up.

It has a very futuristic ambience in the music video. Their dance move is very fast paced and it makes you feel energetic just by watching them dance to Pandora. Also, the part whereby they sing, "crush, crush" is very interesting. As though, inviting you to dance along with them to their song.

This is the first time I liked KARA's music so much. Therefore, I decided to do this review and share with you a few member's I identified and found interesting.

Among the 5 members of KARA, I voted best vocal, most attractive, best dancer, most matured look and sexiest appeal to each of them.

Best vocal, Gyuri! =)
Most attractive, Seung Yeon! =)
Most matured look, Ji Young! =)

Best dancer, Nicole! =)
Sexiest appeal, Hara! =)
Overall, they compliment each other very well. There are a few members who stood out to me more than the rest and they are Seung Yeon, Gyuri and Ji Young. Nicole and Hara does not seem to stand out in the music videos. However, I actually heard of them first from variety TV shows beforehand.

Good job to KARA's new songs Pandora and Step. Two very nice upbeat music. Keep on fighting! =)

Cheers, with love.
